Como no quería ser una mujer triste me convertí en lagarto pero no encontré por donde anduve ni una hoja seca, todo era cemento. Y como no era un lagarto auténtico, ese suelo recalentado me quemaba las patas, la cola y me hacía arder el vientre.
En vista de que al llegar el anochecer el vientre no se aquietaba, decidí volver a ser mujer y busqué a mi hombre (un hombre que no me amaba). Busqué por toda la casa y no lo hallé. Entonces volví al cuaderno rojo de fabricación china comprado en Londres.
