I know they eat bugs, but considering I live on an army post in Texas, the insects are more abundant then the geckos and the geckos that are coming in are 2-3 times small then the bugs. I can't use moth balls because our neighbor has a dog and i don't want to hurt it. I don't want to hurt them, I just want to keep them away from doorways. I am from the north, were geckos don't run free, so i have never been exposed to them in that nature. I understand that they are good for the enviroment, and no amount of people are going to convince me to be okay with them in my home. If anyone has tried any methods that worked, please let me know. I have used Snake-away in the past, but i wasn't sure if it would work on Geckos. We have lived here for four years and I become clinally depressed because of the presence of geckos. The presence of them in my home make me irrational and anxious. I think we all agree, that one should be comfortable in thier own home. Thank you !
Hello, I just bought a Jackson Chameleon the other week. He is about the size of my middle finger when his tail is curled and I want to know what I could do to optimize growth for him. I feed him crickets often and place a mealworm or silkworm here and there.
I understand that a large size for a Jackson is about 12" head to tail. I would love to have a freakishly large and plump chameleon. I was wondering if any chameleon owners out there knew any tips on ensuring solid growth for chameleons.
Are there periods where certain feedings are crucial? When are their growth spurts? What's the highest calorie and highest nutrient diet? What are tips to promote hunger? Etc, etc, etc…..
Please help!
I want to buy a chinchilla, but I don't know where.I need to find a good chinchilla breeder on Long Island.

My plans for a turtle home includes a rectange or square area with a small pond (only 3-4 feet deep) with a large grass area. I have a red ear slider and am planning to get a box turtle. I dont know if I should have them share land + food, but I have seen it done at my local nature center. Please have an answer with atleast 2 sentances because I am desparate!
Thx
A lot of people get into the horse business or horse ownership as a "family" thing. The generations before them had horses, and now they too own horses. I'm sure most of their knowledge comes from learning by hand.
But some other people (like myself) do not get this opportunity. My grandparents owned horses, but my parents did not. So that "hands-on" learning that goes on for generations stopped.
Right now I'm still in High School but plan on owning a horse or more in the future. I've taken equine science/management classes, and work with large animals like cattle (not that their care is alike!).
And as weird as it sounds- I think I am going too far with learning and reasearch.
So have you horse owners learned what you know from childhood, learned about the subject then got into horses, or just got horses and learned as you go?
I am debating nano reef and aqua pod all-in-one in 24g size for a reef setup, which is better, nano cube seems more expensive, what wattage do i need minimum for soft corals whats good and should i get metal hallide? any good sites or good brands for nano reef?

Do I need a licence to sell leopard geckos to shops, if i do where can i get one.
I've heard all my life of the rarity of male calico cats since my father is a veterinarian. My cat, also a calico, recently gave birth to one. If it's true that they're valuable, how do I go about finding how what he's worth?
