How long can a Savannah Monitor live without eatting?

My Savannah monitor is about 10 inches long now, and I feed him a good size mouse every week. Sometimes a pinky in between. Well, suddenly he stopped coming out of his hide, he's been in there for about 4 days straight, and he is still alive, because he'll come out and walk around, take a drink etc. So how long can he go on doing this before he dies of starvation? Oh and I offered him food and he wouldn't come out. He would just smell it.

How can I get my chinchilla to run on his flying saucer wheel?

I've recently bought my chinchilla a flying saucer wheel but he doesn't run on it. Every time he gets on it moves and he gets scared and jumps off. He's 6 years old and has never had one before, will he get used to it or will he always be scared?

I was just wondering, what is better a black throat monitor or a white throat? I am going to the reptile expo and their should be tons of baby monitors for sale, what would be better? I already have a savannah that is the weirdest thing, I bought a nile, and they have been living together for the past 2 years. But anyway, what would be better with temperment?
